More for my own memory:

I found that retweet that first steered me in Miriam's direction: http://twitter.com/chickieleighc/status/2174816532

And I found my first tweet to her: http://twitter.com/billmason/status/2175252963

For my own memory, a couple of things I don't want to lose:

Miriam reposted this on her blog: http://frozensilence.blogfa.com/post-226.aspx

Her introduction at the top translates as: "one of my friends in twitter who followed the recent unrest in Iran - and we are still friends - wrote about me, and i want to put it here so i can have it with me"

Yeah, the replies change definitely made checking out new people to maybe follow harder. I hope Twitter puts more effort into recreating replies in a way that won't break their systems, and less on trying to invent a new tool for us to do what replies was already doing. We shall see.

Right now, I just use the blog anytime I want to say something more at length relating to (usually) something I've tweeted. So basically any topic that strikes my fancy. Sometimes this results in a run of posts in a close pack if I get inspired. Other times this place may get quiet for awhile until the inspiration returns.

I'm not willing yet to declare today recovered, but it's trying to bounce back. Thanks for the thought. :)

Hi Bill; Thanks for your comments about the change(s) in Twitter. I believe I followed you after seeing a comment you left for Imogen Heap. I'm still looking for more people to follow, and now I am hampered by this change. . .
So, what topics are an option on your blog?
I hope your day is improving.
cheers,
MJ

[...] Last time, I wrote that I was definitely not ready for this changing of the guard. But such a change was clearly the way of the future, ready or not. I suspect that if you were not ready and willing, there’s no way you liked this film. Maybe you did if you took as a neat speculative diversion and then you turned back to the latest novel from Pocket Books. But that’s about it. [...]

I had exactly the same thoughts about the traction control warning in my car. I have a Scion XB which I recently found out is pretty horrible in driving in snow and ice. I think it is because the front-end is so light.

I lost traction going down a stretch of the recently widened Andressen Road in our last snowfall. I knew instantly and before the traction beeping that I no longer had control of the vehicle. I kept trying to turn slightly to the left to avoid skidding ff the road but there was just no traction to be had.

Finally out of desperation and contrary to my experience with dealing with ice and snow skidding, I very lightly hit the brake and that amazingly restored traction to the vehicle.

It was a very scary experience. The traction control beeping only served to increase my anxiety level.
